I was a professional musician in the 1960’s.  But I was only in my mid teens.  I was also a person who had a very hard time earning money.  I’ve subsequently spent virtually my whole life trying to get ahead financially, and never quite achieving enough independence to enable a return to professional music.  Admittedly though, I’m a person with varied interests and motivations, such that I really don’t have what it takes to sustain a career in music anyway.

A few years ago however, I was able to set aside a couple thousand dollars for the purpose.  What is presented here then, is my somewhat feeble attempt to produce an album, in spite of it being done with amateur equipment, and by myself, a now amateur musician.  If you find any of it to be of inspiration, then my goal has been achieved.

The sound quality is not too bad either.  I think that if this came out in the 1960’s, the sound quality would be spectacular.  Musical equipment and recording has evolved so dramatically over the decades.

As the album came together, it seemed to portray a sort of emotional journey, or a progression, beginning somewhat light-hearted, then plunging into some deep feelings which evolve through a labyrinth of story-like gyrations, finally reaching a natural resolution.  I’ve found it to be useful as accompaniment to an exercise routine, helping to mitigate the boredom factor.  Also, if you’re one of those who can listen to music while reading, it can produce some magical moments.  And it lends itself to various forms of meditation.

If you can get past the fact that it was done on a rather inexpensive synthesizer, you may find the music able to reach your heart.  Your imagination may find the stories, and perhaps even some of those words I keep searching for.
